How the estimate works
A true one-rep max is the most weight you can lift for a single rep. Testing it cold is risky, so this tool estimates it from a set you have already done. It averages two long-standing formulas — Epley and Brzycki — which stay accurate in the 1–12 rep range and drift as reps climb higher.
Using the percentages
The table converts your estimated max into common training loads. Strength work usually lives at 80–95%, hypertrophy work at 65–80%. Round to what the bar actually loads and never test a real max without a spotter or safeties.
Estimates only. Do not attempt a maximal lift without proper warm-up, a spotter, or power-rack safeties. Training carries inherent risk; lift within your ability.
